We all came in and sat down in our (relatively) new seats, and then Ms. Nakada started class. We briefly discussed National Suicide Prevention Month, and Ms. Nakada told Jacob to move out of Jaxon's seat. Since Jaxon was suspiciously absent, Ms. Nakada read the blog. She then called for volunteers to write today's blog. I volunteered to write, because I didn't want to be the last person to go for our class. After that, we started to do Reader's Workshop. I didn't get to see what people were reading, because I was typing furiously at this laptop.

Next, we started test corrections, and we were told to take out a blue or black pen, or a pencil. I was a bit confused for a second, but I eventually realized that we were supposed to take out a sheet of notebook paper. The rules for test corrections were, basically, that we needed to write what problems we got wrong, and what the correct answer was. A few minutes after we had been given our tests, they had to "make a pile at the aisle." (I had no aisle, so I just left it on the desk)

Later, we began a new page in our notebooks called "Essay Basics," but some people were fooling around, so they had to be moved. Somehow, we got to talking about how California schools were going to start later, because a bill was just passed. Unfortunately, it was set to take effect in 2023, which is when we will be seniors. Ms. Nakada said that they might make an optional "zero period" that starts when school would normally start for us, and a seventh period that would end later. She elaborated by telling us that our AT (Homeroom) would most likely be period 1 with the 2023 schedule change. We promptly got back to the Essay Basics.

Ms. Nakada decided that we should practice writing an introduction, and people in the front were groaning. No-one seemed to be excited to write, but she reminded us that we would be writing for the entire month of November. The prompt was "Will Ponyboy stay gold?" There weren't many people who thought that Ponyboy would stay gold because of the loss that he experienced in the book. We were in the middle of a discussion about that when the period ended.

Thanks for being an amazing audience, and, for now, I'll see y'all later! (Excuse the Southern vocabulary)
