Image result for the outsiders We started off the day by Ms. Nakada asking the class whether they want pizza, donuts, or popsicles. A majority of the class voted for pizza, while none of the class voted for popsicles. Then, Ms. Nakada gave our class a point because everyone was here. She told the class that tomorrow's test would be about T.O., Quick Writes, and Elements of Plot. Afterwards, Amanda read her wonderful blog. The class then corrected her few mistakes. Ms. Nakada asked everyone to take out their T.O. summaries. During that time, Amanda left the room and headed to Ms. Stuback's room. Ms. Nakada added yet another point to the board because everyone did their homework. Since the summaries shared are typically boy dominated, Ms. Nakada asked for a girl to read. After summaries were read, we began annotating, and Ms. Nakada discusses what happened in chapter 12. Ponyboy is a huge mess. He forgets his shoes, runs into things, and is physically not okay. Ponyboy is not himself, but he still is a nice boy as he picks up broken glass so that people won't get a flat tire. Then, we find that that Soda is not the father of Sandy's baby, yet he still wanted to marry her. As Ms. Nakada said, "Tea."Pony decides to tell his story as his theme. Ms. Nakada asked the class if they liked the ending. Elliot said that it was too short, and Kaio said that the book is essentially an infinite loop. Ian talked about the climax of the story, which could be the church burning down. Ms. Nakada asked everyone to take out their English notebooks. We added RJ check 2.1- 2.3, Book Project #1, and RJ 3.1- 3.3 to our English Scores. Sam and Owen passed out graded assignments for students to put in their portfolios. Ms. Nakada opened up the iPad cart for people to take AR tests. Yasmine asked if we should bring money tomorrow for pizza. Ms. Nakada said yes. During reader's workshop, Henry read The Hunger Games, and Kaio read Duma Key. The period ended, and everyone packed up and headed to fourth period.
