Ian's First Blog

(Things I write in bold are Homework or part of the main Agenda)

Welcome to the Mister Krabs' Fan Club.

We started today by doing Blog Corrections for Olivia's previous blog. And then in our notebook wrote three new entries in our table of contents, for quotes, songs, and questions of the week that Ms. Nakada writes on different corners of the board. Our Homework is to read pages 37 - 52 of The Outsiders and write a three sentence summary of what we read in our Reading Journals.

We are reminded to always be ourselves, a solid piece of advice, in a quote by the writer Ralph Waldo Emerson. We discussed topics about what society says we are supposed to do and not what we want to do. We discussed our hopes as well, people said that they wanted success and others wanted to leave school.

We listened to a short and good White Stripes song, a band that I personally don't know or listen to, but after today I would like to. Throughout the song it talks about two young people slowly becoming friends and having fun with the lyrics.

The main theme and power of the song comes from nostalgia.

It brings you back to a time that was definitely simpler and may be more enjoyable to some people.

We are about to go to reader's workshop and go over projects so this is where I say goodbye.

I really enjoyed writing this blog. Have a nice day.

- Ian

PS. Future Ian here, The Outsiders, at around page 56 gets so much better, and it's just so unexpected, just wanted to say that.
